The dictionary definition of SPECTACULAR is "very impressive, striking or dramatic" and this production was all that and more. There were so many good performances from all involved with Damon Willer whose interpretation of Phineas Taylor Barnum was flawless with Annalie Brown-Cotton as his wife, Charity, using her commonsense and good acting skills to try and stem some of her husband's wilder schemes. All the other characters, whether major or minor, added their excellence to the whole piece, together with those in the chorus and everyone had learned their circus skills so well. Costumes were ideal, black and red being so effective. Congratulations to all those working backstage in any capacity, whether it be set design, construction, makeup, hair, lighting, props and all the other myriad jobs that go to make a really good show. Chris and Linda Thompson's direction made everything look easy but a lot of hard work must have gone into making this show another success for HATS.
