Boom Hush is a new society to join NODA SE and I am very glad they have. We welcome new groups, and whilst traveling to the Avenue Theatre in Sittingbourne I was thinking of all their publicity they have had on social media lately. A group dedicated to raising money for local charities, their first being EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Support UK). Its heart-warming to see a group that are not just thinking of putting on a show to raise money to fund their next show. Boom Hush are a non-profit making society, not many of those in NODA. Of course, many groups in NODA do donate to their local and national charities. Not easy currently, as putting on shows isn’t cheap as prices raise for sets costumes and venues.
I was greeted at the Door by two smiley cast members Kay and Ben they looked happy and of course this is a good start to any evening of entertainment."Bad” a compilation of villainous music from mostly musicals. With a cast of 14 I can’t say who directed or choregraphed as there were no details in the programme, but my guess is Kay Wright and Rebecca Currier (Narratives)and Emma - Choreography. Brian, looking very wickedly villainous, guided us through the evening, a strong performance from him. Backing him up were. Adam, Ben, Bex, Chesca, Clare, Emile, Emma, Kay, Kev, Nat, Renee, Sian and Suzanne. The contents of this concert was well thought through and solidly put together, all taking the highlight at some point in the evening, whether it be singing or dancing.. Staging was directed well.Thank you, Boom Hush, for making my guest and I so welcome and having an excellent night at being ‘BAD’. Nicely done.
