A Hilarious Romp: "Babes in The Wood" Pantomime by Roger Buist

Monifieth Theatre was the place to be to see "Babes in The Wood" delivered by the M.A.D cast and experience a night of pure madness and festive merriment, with standout performances and uproarious antics that had the audience in stitches.

Matt Hodson stole the show with his insane characterisation of Teacher Ivy Fire, adding a delightful touch of eccentricity to the classic tale and leading one ‘lucky’ audience member being the target of clever banter. The plot centred around the Babes, Colin (Daisy Carnegie) and Claire (Ava Meldrum), as they navigated the wicked schemes of their Sheriff Uncle (Issac Devereux). The hilarity ensued with the bumbling yet entertaining Sir Marks (Steven Armstrong) and Sir Spencer (Geode Partridge), whose antics provided a steady stream of laughs. The not-so-with-it comedy duo of Teeny (Ann Sutherland) and Willie (Cliff Cuthbertson) brought additional humour to the stage, with forgotten lines and impromptu ad libs that only added to the charm of the performance. Robin Hood (Ivy Sutherland) and Maid Marion (Kiarra Fenemore) swooped in to save the day, rounding out the cast with their spirited performances. The chemistry between characters, coupled with the festive atmosphere, created a night filled with joy and creativity. M.A.D  brought an infectious energy to the production, turning potential mishaps into comedic gold. The ensemble's ability to roll with forgotten lines and improvise on the spot demonstrated their quick-wittedness and added an element of unpredictability to the show. In conclusion, "Babes in The Wood" was a triumphant celebration of madness, much laughter, and festive cheer. Roger Buist's pantomime proved to be a delightful addition to the festive season, leaving the audience with warm memories and smiles that lasted long after the final curtain fell.

Thank you for the invitation and kind welcome and inevitable heckling.
