Autumn Cabaret 2013

This wonderful hobby/profession, which we love, is dependant on companies like this to ensure we have a stream of talented performers for the future. We were welcomed with a lovely atmosphere created, in this intimate venue, with candlelit tables, star cloth and an open stage. A dramatic, lively and spirited opening with a “Bond Medley” set the mood for a lovely evening. Grace Robson then gave us a beautiful rendition of “ Skyfall” ( Adele beware!) The evening was one of contrasts ranging from “Naughty” from Matilda” a great performance by Sofia di Meo Smith through to a “Beatles Medley” from the younger members. Microphone technique has improved but occasionally they were turned on too late. Two of the highlights of the evening came from the “Jersey Boys” medleys which were slick, polished and very well performed. Their harmonies were testament to the many times spent rehearsing. “ Fields of Gold” was a lovely duet and this and “Autumn Leaves” were a nice contrast to the Show songs. An attractively dressed Fionnuala Jabber looked and performed beautifully with some skilful Irish Dancing. The final medley was from “Grease” and whetted our appetites for this groups next production in March of next year. A mixture of live and canned music can create problems but these were overcome and did not spoil the evening. All on stage were a delight and Michelle Cuffe has once again brought out the best in her young charges. Thank you all for a very enjoyable evening.
