An original production from GBTMC written by member Craig Smith.
Set in the office of a publishing company, the action takes place during another day at the office. Paige Turner (Jo Coffin) is there trying to get her new book published and the Wolfe’s are arguing again. Some of the employees are attending a meeting to be informed by owner Mr. Wolfe that they are being made redundant due to financial problems. When, during a power cut Mr. Wolf is murdered the employees must decide who killed him and then later who killed Maggie, the finance manager.
This different piece was well performed by the members who made full use of the stage and floor at The Town Hall. With the office furniture set on the main body of the auditorium you did fell that you were in an office.
Good performances came from Luke Sooekdo as Mr Wolfe and his wife Rose, played by Alex Bates. They were well supported by and including Craig Smith as editor in chief Leslie Foxx and Olly Clarke as delivery man Roy L Mayall. I really enjoyed hearing the singing voice of Annette Bird as The Angel of Death and a seeing the comic timing of Anne Hewitt as Anemone Shaw. With such a large cast I would be here most of the day mentioning them, but I have to say that they all performed well together. Great team effort.
The audience were given the chance to say who they felt the murderer was as during one of the intervals the society held a sweepstake.
With a great twist at the end, who was the murderer. You needed to be there to find out but all I will say is it’s not who you think. Or was it?
