I attended the opening night of this production when one might expect some first night nerves but this certainly was not the case with this young, dynamic company. A lively group of mischievous orphans got the show off to a confident start with 'Hard Knock Life' strong vocally and precise in movement. Their number 'Fully Dressed' in the second act with it's detailed choreography was also a show stopper. Annie herself is a demanding role but Erin Moonie was totally at ease in the part singing with a clear voice and interpreting the dialogue in a competent and meaningful manner. Perhaps one of the most difficult parts in this musical is Daddy Warbucks and Philip Wootton is to be congratualted on a strong, steady performance and on admirably handling his two difficult solo numbers. Ellen McNeill gave a serene performance as his loyal secretary Grace Farrell and had a lovely singing voice. The fiesty Miss Hannigan was well played in a disciplined way by Meghan Jones who never overdid being inebriated which is often played o.t.t. but certainly leaving us in no doubt that she had little time for her little girls. Rooster and Lily are fun parts and Steven Wootton was a real 'cheeky chappie' while Abbie Curran showed off her dancing skills in 'Easy Street'. All of the company production numbers were very well done with some slick and imaginative choreography which kept the company on their toes. There was some great singing from the chorus of housemaids and butlers who looked pristine in their eye catchimg uniforms. The many scene changes were very smooth and excellent use was made of the stage particularly in the fabulous Warbuck's mansion. An excellent orchestar supported the company throughout.

Once again this talented young company came up trumps with a sparkling production which was enjoyed by an appreciative audience. Great stuff.
