Great credit must go to the small cast and production team for making this show happen. It was clearly greatly appreciated by the enthusiastic audiences. It was certainly an ‘Annie’ with a difference, staged with a black and white theme. This in fact worked really well and great credit to the costume designer in particular, for her ingenuity, skill and sense of period. Visually, the show was most attractive. This was a big undertaking and with a little compromise musically, the company carried it off with great aplomb. Annie was played by Amy Hope and Sheree Samson. They created great characters and produced a clear sound. The rest of the orphans showed much enthusiasm and gave great support. Miss Hannigan was ably played by Jade McQuillan. Jade showed good presence on the stage and captured the character well. ‘Little girls’ worked very well. Sandy Wallace also shone as Oliver Warbucks. He played the role with good style and flair. Alannah Watson was effective as Grace Farrell demonstrating her strong singing voice. The small chorus covered a myriad of smaller roles as well as all the chorus characters. It was good to see everyone enjoying themselves. Well done, KHS!
