Again so much to admire by this very enthusiastic youth society with some excellent performances in all roles. Annie (Emma Bolton) gave a very confident acting performance and displaying a very tuneful singing voice. Oliver Warbucks (Matt Scott) gave a most sympathetic backing to Annie and sang his numbers in great style and was well supported by a fine Grace (Lauren Redfearn) a very smart and likeable P.A. to Warbucks. We were given a super performance from Miss Hannigan (Emily Brier) in a most slovenly, inebriated style not too easy to achieve without going O.T.T. The 'Easy Street' number performed by Rooster (Cameron Cunningham-Armitage) and Lily (Imogen Hinchliffe) along with Miss Hannigan was very well sung and acted and was well received by the audience. I was very impressed by the Boylan Sisters singing of their number and by Bert Healey (Luke Sewell) a very eye catching performance in a not so easy scene. President Roosevelt (Isaac Haley) and his cabinet gave a spirited acting and singing performance as they sang the 'Tomorrow' number. The direction was very good and the choreography was well organised as were the costumes and the show was very well sung by both principals and chorus which benefitted from a most tuneful keyboard and drums accompanyment.
