Farcical situations with lots of misunderstandings about Amanda who became very upset thinking her husband Peter was cheating on her with another woman. He wanted to plan a surprise party for the couples wedding anniversary which caused his wife to become suspicious notwithstanding lots of mysterious phone calls and lies about where Peter was spending the evening. Directed by Jos Johnston, the farce did not disappoint living up to the reputation of the PETS. This fast moving play was certainly played for laughs which the audience enjoyed. Peter (Terry Gardiner) the husband, and Amanda (Denise Cleaver) were always very entertaining playing their parts well. Peter’s friend Charles (Peter Samuel) and wife Clara (Kay Padwick) gave good acting support. She told Amanda that Charles had gone abroad on a business trip as she had just taken him to the airport. Mildred (Pen Bicheno), Amanda’s daily, told her she had seen Peter in the local pub drinking with a young lady. Amanda’s mother Dorothy (Sue Gower) and father Albert (Jos Johnston) called to see why their daughter was upset. The situation became more complicated when two Private Detectives, Brian and Colin ably played by Graham Lonsdale and Keith Olding were seen taking photographs. All was revealed in the end, the misunderstandings unravelled and it all ended happily with the whole company celebrating the couples wedding anniversary. Vivian Godman chose the costumes well the ladies were very elegantly attired. Brian Godman's living room set constructed by members and helpers complemented the production. Lighting by Andrew Hearn & Chris Govey along with sound by Ben Tilly & Rowan Lonsdale. Stage managed by Brian Godman.
