A well-presented concert comprising a selection of choreographed numbers, in the main from popular musicals, which was so obviously the result of very many hours of rehearsal and which was performed ‘For One Night Only!’
Normally this Society perform concerts with a live trio of excellent musicians, but in this case the singers were accompanied by a backing track and most unfortunately, the sound balance was not correct – which must have been simply heart-breaking after all that work. The result was that we could hardly hear the harmonies sung by the choir over the highly amplified backing track, whilst the soloists using hand held microphones were, at times, painfully loud.
Many congratulations on the uniformity – the choir were all dressed alike – in black – with the addition of different coloured scarves, worn in different ways, for different pieces of music – again demonstrating the amount of thought and time and dedication which had very obviously been put in to organise this event. Almost every single number had quite considerable movement of some kind, and oh so many coloured flashing, moving and swirling lights simply adding to the general atmosphere of this, quite literally, dazzling concert.
You must have been SO pleased, and are to be heartily congratulated on the House Full sign.
