Solihull Society of Arts celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.  To celebrate this and its own 75th Birthday, SSA Drama held an evening of mirth and merriment in the form of three one act plays which the audience fully appreciated.

Ernie’s Incredible Illucinations - A bright comedy set in a busy Doctor’s surgery, regarding the extraordinary power of Ernie who has a vivid imagination.  But his thoughts have a knack of turning into reality.  The four main principals worked well together, and the audience had a few laughs along the way.

Monkey Bars – Set in a school room this play has the words of children spoken by adults.  Very touching and funny play, this used a minimal set which worked well.

Bang, You’re Dead – The cast of two males and two females tell the story of Lydia and her boyfriend Marcus who are rehearsing the murder of Theo, Lydia’s husband which they are going to commit that very evening.  But things are not what they seem.  Set in Lydia and Theo’s sitting room, this play had a very good twist at the end and had good scenery.

Chris Cooper not only directed the three plays but was also M.C. for the evening and did a sterling job.

Many congratulations to all involved on and off the stage.  A good evening’s entertainment.
