A very light hearted view of wartime France. David Dray created fun and laughter in his direction of ‘Allo ‘Allo using his many skills to entertain and with the help of a very creative cast it was a great success. René Artois ( Steve Alais) played the part of owner Café René to a ‘tee’, displaying his cunning ways with his staff and customers much to the amusement of all concerned. Edith (Sophie Irving) as his wife was a perfect foil and her acting and coquettish ways were expertly played to the full. Yvette (Darnielle Silver) and Mimi (Sarah Goddard) as the waitresses played their parts in an amusing way flirting with René. Michelle (Natasha Halliwell) reciting the infamous catchphrase (I will say this only once) put all her effort into the character allowing her considerable acting skills amuse all concerned. Colonel Kurt Von Strohm (Miles Harfield), Lieutenant Gruber (Ferenc Hepp) and Captain Bertorelli (Darren Coppe) showed their ability enhancing their roles.. Herr Otto Flick (Paul Prebble) was truly magnificent in the role of the Gestapo Officer along with Private Helga Geerhart(Amy Scott) as his accomplished side kick. The rest of the principals supported the main characters and gave an excellent performance. A very amusing and entertaining evening. Well done. Stage Managed by Chris Morley and his crew. The Café René set designed by Roger Ness was superb. Lighting and sound Eddie King.
