An excellent production of this favourite play. There appeared to be several instalments joined together to make one long story. An excellent Rene played by Neil Jackson kept control of the action and never lost his accent. Sue Hayes was Edith, a good performance here, singing nearly as bad as the original – great fun. I thought Neville Woolnough as the sexy Italian Officer Capt.Bertorelli was terrific, he obviously enjoyed every minute and he was dressed to kill! I also liked Cathy McLean as Yvette, putting poor Rene through his paces! Also Amanda Cunningham as Mimi . It must have been a dream to play Michelle she was really in the part. Other characters were true to form and it is unfair not to mention every one, because they must all have studied their characters to come over so well. Of course Herr Flick and Helga were up to their tricks as was Policeman Crabtree who kept the accent (or non accent) extremely well. It was a shame we didn’t see much of the two English Airmen, but they did pop up a couple of times. There was a full house Friday and apparently the houses have been good all week. A most enjoyable evening. Well done.
