All Shook Up”- Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley was a new production to me and probably the first night audience as well but we certainly knew most of the songs. This youth group performance was excellent and the talented principals carried the show along with superb vocals and acting of a far higher standard than we would normally expect from such young people. Dan Richards (Chad) in the Elvis role has a very likeable personality and having been a KODY for some years he is maturing nicely.Elisha Green (Natalie and Ed) has a stage presence and an excellent voice and was perfect in the role (s). Josh Haywood (Dennis) has a wonderful sense of comic timing and made the most of the humour in the part. All the principals were well cast and the smallest lad on stage Evan Mancrief (Prison Guard and Warden) is a natural and I shall look forward to see him in future shows. Ensemble singing and dancing was a delight and the full company of principals and chorus filled the stage and were step perfect. Of course the Elvis songs brought nostalgia to the audience most of whom were around when Elvis and his music was Top of the Pops and he was in his pomp. The Production Team and Crew and all backstage and front of house who were involved in this heart warming show deserve great credit for the quality ofthe whole performance and hopefully many of the youthful cast will perform in future but as full blown KODS.
