A very upbeat show with all the most popular songs we have come to know so well sung and performed by Elvis Presley.

CMTS were performing in a very large stage at the Princes Theatre and filled it well with some slick dancing and singing. The company has attracted many newcomers into the society and several were appearing for the first time.

Samuel Small as Chad taking the lead role did well and had a pleasant singing voice and moved well in this character.

I felt that David Richardson as Dennis grew into this geeky character as the show progressed with again a first performance with the society.

Jim Haller played by Chris Whiteman the father of Natalie was a gentle soul and slightly hesitant at the start but again gained confidence as the show moved along.

Luke Grint as Dan Hyde looked natural on stage and sung very well.

Now to the ladies. The lead role of Natalie Haller played so well by Kirstie Heathcote was so confident and bubbly which gave her character real meaning and drew the audience into her world. Well played!

Rachael Welham was perfectly cast as the glamorous Miss Sandra. Very confident and good feel for her character.Chloe Baines as Lorraine and Pheobe Wiggett as Sylvia completed the main roles in the production and all added towards the confident performances on stage.

Just one more character “a man of few words” Sheriff Earl played by Steve Church completed the principal roles.

The choreography was excellent as was the costumes hair and make up.

When working with backing tracks the balance of sound is so important and timing essential. The volume of sound was really loud making dialogue when underscore music was playing very difficult to hear. The volume rather drowned out the opening number which was a shame as a good opening number gives the show such a lift.

However the energy throughout was to be commended and so good to see a young cast giving their all to the production. Chorus numbers especially were very good.

I hope that the audiences appreciated all the effort put into this production.

I look forward to the next production which is the Pantomime?
