It was Friday 13th when I went to see “Alice in wonderland” but it wasn’t unlucky for me it was quite the reverse. Ratlets the youth section of RaTs gave us an exceptional “Alice”!!!!! The curtain opened and I heard the audience gulp a sudden intake of air, the set was like nothing I had ever seen before at the Oast or any theatre come to that. It was STUPENDOUS just great, well done to those concerned. The young cast guided us though the tales, with great acting from all of them, each playing many parts, I lost track who was playing who. Some were taking gender changing to its heights and doing it exceptional well. I couldn’t really fault any of these young actors, all were intent on giving us their best and they did! Well done to you all. Direction from Grant Flanagan was thoughtful and slick, he had cast the actors well in their relevant parts. His use of the small stage was ingenious, using every inch to its capacity. Costumes/makeup/lighting were colourful and all teamed in with that gorgeous set, making it come alive. Grant you should be proud of yourself and your cast, for bringing such a polished young cast to a high standard in youth theatre. Well done to all concerned in this Alice in Wonderland.
