This was a very innovative Pantomime from MAOS, in that we had various characters from other famous shows. We were introduced to Captain Hook, Abanazaah, Simple Simon, Bill and Ben and even Daemeon, who wasn’t so much of an Antichrist on this occasion. Society stalwart Diane Vernon was a very convincing Witch Whey, but she was anything but loose. Trevor Mossop was a convincing Queen May, and to be fair all the characters were very well played.

There was a good blend of youth and experience within the show, and it moved along at a good pace. One small criticism, from me was I felt that some of the scenes were very wordy, and perhaps could have had another musical number in between. The audience enjoyed all the usual panto elements and I was well impressed with the slapstick scene at the end of Act1.

The scenery was very convincing, and I think Lucy Thompson should be well pleased with her production debut. Im not a fan of pre recorded music but generally it worked very well, if occasionally the songs finished very abruptly. All the technical crew did their jobs efficiently, sound and lighting were very good, on balance a very good all round evening’s entertainment.

Well done to MAOS on a good all round production, and it’s always good to meet the cast at the end of the show.
