~~This was truly a journey into Wonderland. To that world that never leaves the inner depths of our mind.
All the childhood characters appeared in this very surprising production of “ALICE”
The action began whilst the audience were taking their seats and the cast were having a “funeral tea”. A sad beginning to the play depicting the funeral following the death of Alice’s 17 year old brother. A very solemn affair which after a short while developed into mayhem with the appearance of the White Rabbit. From that we were taken on a magical journey with all the Lewis Carroll characters woven into the story. They were all there – The Queen, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, The Mad Hatter, The Cheshire Cat, The March Hare, The Mock Turtle etc etc. The object drawing all these players together was the Croquet Game and that was great fun. All of the actors played several parts and costumes and voices were appropriate to the part. There was no problem recognising any character.
Once again Director Phil Harper produced a play that held the attention from the opening scene to the closing.
It would be most unfair to single out any one of the actors in this play. They were all of an equally high standard. The action never faltered. No one forgot their lines.
