Aladdin JR

For their first show back after an extended break following the COVID pandemic KIYT made a great choice in Aladdin JR.

Despite the restrictive stage space, the group had created a vibrant set that captured the various scenes well whilst still allowing plenty of space for the cast to perform. Well done to the stage crew for dealing with the numerous scenes changes so efficiently.

This shortened version of the full show still contains all the well know musical numbers each of which was delivered with confidence by principals and chorus alike. Movement was appropriate and added an extra layer to the production.

This show requires a large number of principals as well as many named minor roles. It was clear that everyone no matter their part was giving their all for each other and the production. This was evident by the beaming smiles from all on stage at the final curtain call. Special well done to Harris Millan as Aladdin, Ella Campbell as Genie and Aila Wallace as Princess Jasmine for delivering such assured performances and to everyone else, too many to mention individually, for delivering performances you should all be proud of.

All involved in the show on and off stage should be very pleased with the final product – a show to set the standard for future productions.
