An evening of fun and frolics was ensured via Mark llewellin's lively script. For a change, Widow Twankey was the proprietress of a dogs' pampering parlour, and this ploy worked very well. John Parsons was suitably outrageous as the Dame with Phoebe Wilson and Tim Snell adding to the humour as Kaboodle and Kerfuffle. Abbie Rogers and Poppy Dennison worked well together as Aladdin and Princess Jasmine with Jenny Robinson [Genie of the Lamp] being very likeable in that role. The rest of the named characters played their parts admirably and the chorus members were strong in support. the musical numbers fitted in very well with the tale and the singing added much to the overall enjoyment. The scenery was good and the sound and lighting effects were fine. the whole added up to an excellent evening's entertainment.
