After the success of Robbie the Robert last year it was the turn of Aladdin this year. It was a lovely production and as always was lovely to see young ones in the chorus especially the youngest one who was very cute! The costumes and set were very colourful and I especially loved Widow Twanky’s peacock style head dress at the end.
The musical numbers were all very well performed and the audience were given a chance to sing along with the chorus of the Policeman’s song from Pirates of Penzance while some of the men from the audience were invited to stand up and do some of the actions. I also enjoyed the song doing the laundry to the In the Navy song!
All the parts were well performed and special mention should go to Rodney Bowdler who played Wishee Washee who had to get in and out of a “special” marketing machine and also a washing machine! I also loved the twerking moves from Dilys Hollinghurst and Kit Beaton as Abanazer’s henchmen Hi and Lo respectively.
It was a lovely evening and thank you to Kington.
