From the very start it was clear everyone was having a ball on stage. The audience were given plenty of giggles and a lap full of energy from this young cast. A colourful and energetic opening with great visual attractions to set the scene for us. My first congratulations go to Paula who devised the script, placing a great mix of songs and jokes suitable I felt for all tastes and ages. The songs were bang on trend to encourage this young age cast and allowed them to deliver with gusto and enthusiasm. My personal favourite was the performance from the narrator Alice Lawrence who carried the show superbly I thought. Lots of promise for her with a lovely voice and great expression with ability to capture her audience. I loved that everyone got a chance to shine, so important in youth shows. Widow Twanky (Samuel Eaton) was great, with confident delivery and suitable enthusiasm. The Emperor (Gabriel Beck) was charming and I also felt Charlie Lawrence as Prince Pekoe showed great acting potential, with a fantastic energy on stage. Rhia Silsby as Abu Daniel has a lovely clear voice and I was so impressed with the two young dancers who held their own number in Hall of Fame number, my congratulations to them both. Mrs Kazim Junior is another child I'll be looking out for in the future, what a delightful young starlet! A huge congratulations to Aladdin's mum for coping so well with the costumes and heels! Many giggles caused by this role, well done! I really applaud the team who created the costumes and set, it was visible to us how much effort had gone in. I perhaps felt the children could have been in bare foot to 'costume' the footwear situation, but that's me being picky! An applaud must go to the director and cast who performed the flawless magic tricks, I was rather impressed and could tell the audience loved that element. I was thrilled to attend and even more thrilled with the opportunities that have been created here for young people, young MD, young band, choreographers, a true platform for the arts as well as a showcase of some local talent. I would encourage all these young leaders to look in to attending the NODA summer schools where they can learn skills to further develop their hobbies and also direction, leadership skills. I really look forward to seeing this group again
