This was a slick show and as always it is nice to see the mixture of ages on stage enjoying themselves.
The set by Stage a Show Ltd was impressive including a most appealing back cloth for The Princess’s Boudouir. The musical numbers kept the feet tapping including one I enjoyed immensely the final number “Everybody Needs Somebody” and well done to Lydia Denton, who played Wishee Washee, for her part in the final number.
I always enjoy Steve Raven playing the dame and this year he was playing Widow Twankey. His comments when a phone went off in the audience were hysterical!
All parts were well taken. Abanazar played by Phil Field was an excellent bad guy who got the boos his character deserved. Also a special mention should go to the little chorus member who brought on a cupboard of tea for Wishee Washee and rightly got an applause for her appearances.
Thank you for a lovely evening and for inviting me.
