This was yet another good Pantomime from the Theatre Group, there were some very good performances.I particularly enjoyed Aron Armstrong as the evil Abanazer. He got plenty of booing from the enthusiastic, young first performance audience.Jodie Morgan playing, Wishee Washee, was also very good, and got through her worrying with numerous cups of tea, having been prompted by the audience.Other leading roles were well played, Scarlett Todhunter as Aladdin, Shaun Donald as Widow Twankey and Ellie McMillan as Princess Jasmin. The parts suited them very well. All minor roles were fine, the Policemen, Emperor, Notsoshy, the Genie and the Slave of the Ring. There were some good solo and ensemble numbers, and the show moved along at a good place, but what happened to the song sheet?

Wiped scenery cloths and blacks provided the main scenery, and the only large props used were a washing machine, and the clothes to be laundered.

This idea made it quite simple for the crew to change scenes. Lighting was good and the pre recorded sound was excellent, well done to the technical team. All in all a very good pantomime, but my one criticism has to be the timing of the performance. The show was late starting, the interval was far too long, and a ten twenty finale, on a school day, with so many children present, was, to me a step too far. Having made my spat, well done to all concerned and I hope you all enjoy the rest of the run.
