~~Sutton Arts ‘Aladdin’ had all the required ingredients to create a traditional family pantomime.

From start to finish we were treated to a host of well-developed characters.  A strong Baddie / Abanzar (Robbie Newton) who encouraged the audience to boo and hiss in all the right places.  Dexter Whitehead gave us a lovable Widow Twankey with an endless number of outrageous outfits.  Josh Higgs as Wishy-Washy engaged with the audience and had some real fun in the laundry scene complete with giant washing machine and mangle.  Phebe Jackson as Aladdin and Corinne Hickey as Princess Jasmine sang well together.  Whist Louis Sutherland as the energetic Genie rapped well.

As usual Sutton Arts set builders did a fine job and the special effects were most effective especially the flying carpet!

This pantomime set the scene for a real family Christmas.

Emily Armstrong and Dexter Whitehead’s direction has given Sutton Arts another success
