A drinks party at the home of the pretentious Beverley & Laurence, her Estate Agent husband, for their new neighbours Angela and Tony and Susan, the mother of 15 year old  Abigail who is having a party in a house opposite.is the setting for an evening of social disaster.  As the evening progresses and the alcohol flows, the tensions in the hosts marriage emerge and their obsessions, prejudices and petty behaviour are hilariousely exposed. The set of a lounge in a suburban middle class home was excellent. The cast each gave a very competent and totally involved performance with Beverley (Emilie Knight) leading the way in a comic performance of some stature.  Laurence (Gavin Jones) the husband gave as good as he got until exploding. The neighbours Angela (Shona Read Lang) and Tony (Andy Stanley) gave excellent comic performances with Susan (Helen Mitchel) providing the only sensible character. The Director, Brenda Anderson making  her debut as Director, had chosen a very difficult play to start with but succeeded with flying colours. The whole, with excellent Essex accents well sustained throughout, with good characterisations, concentration  and good comic timing all made for a very entertaining evening.
