We were transported back to the 70’s at a time when the “new middle class” was making its mark on suburbia. The set looked good and with the gaudy wallpaper captured the period perfectly and we were ready for an evening of social interaction.

The hostess Beverley (Becky Spiegl-Watson) with her over the top manner played her part wonderfully well with great confidence. She was the perfect hostess, constantly replenishing everyone’s drinks. Her husband Laurence (Bryn Marwood) played his part convincingly in so much as he would rather have not been there, excusing himself on a number of times. It was really not his scene at all, even the Demis Rousos was not his taste. Neighbours Angela (Amber Marwood) and husband Tony (Ross Cryer) played their parts well and Sue (Marie Fletcher) was perfectly portrayed.

Overall I enjoyed this play which dealt with relationships, manners and sexual tensions and everyone played their parts well. Congratulations must go to Sue Twilley on her directorial debut. Thanks again LTC for an entertaining evening.

PS. I think I will give the Pilchard Curry a miss.
