If you missed this show you missed a treat. Brownhills MTC pulled out all the stops. It was so slick that you would not have known where one segment ended and another one began except for the addition of flags when you moved from one country to another.
The set was just a staircase from a raised area at the rear of the stage, but it shone because of how well the lighting operative worked. Outstanding.
There were so many highs performed by the hard-working company. We were treated to songs from nine countries, from Australia to Italy, from Made in Dagenham to Waterloo, all performed with confidence. I really enjoyed hearing Chris Room and Amber Smith singing ‘Last Night of the World’ and Chris Parry singing ‘Pity the Child’ from ‘Chess’. The Mamma Mia section had the audience singing along to all the ABBA hits.
Congratulations to everyone involved. From the Front of house and backstage crew to the members on stage. What a team and a fantastic night’s entertainment.
