A Touch of Danger

SLT chose a play by Francis Durbridge for their Autumn production which proved to be a most fitting choice. Durbridge was a prolific and popular writer whose works included novels, television and radio plays and latterly plays for theatre. Many will recall listening to the adventures of Paul Temple on the radio.

“A Touch of Danger” is a thriller which has many unexpected developments that fit neatly into the believable story line, although sorting out the ‘good’ from the ‘bad’ guys presents some interesting challenges! The cast worked extremely hard to create and maintain suspense throughout the play until all is revealed at the end. The characterisation portrayed by the players was excellent. The action takes place in the living room of a London apartment in 1987 and the set for this was designed and finished to a very high standard. The costumes, props and furniture were most fitting and appropriate for the period and the efficient stage crew made swift changes to the set and lighting that were commensurate with the passage of time. The detailed interpretation provided first class entertainment which was much appreciated by audience. Congratulations to all who were involved in delivering this quality drama.
