An excelent Christmas Concert from this estabilshed and acomplished Choral Society who will celebrate their 50th Anniversary in 2015. The Choir was joined by Stourport Brass Band and Lickhill Primary School Choir to present a wonderful seasonal performance of twenty three items of high quality. The audience was also in good voice when asked to sing the well known Carols which added to the enjoyment. Most of the music I had heard before but one or two items were specially arranged to engage Choir, Band and Children together. I particularly enjoyed the finale of the first half ‘A Christmas Fantasy’ by Choir and Band and “Let It Go” by Lickhill School Choir.Choir. Needless to say that the appearance of Santa Clause (Looking a lot like Ken Strutt) provoked much excitement from the children. The grown-ups were treated to mince pies and hot punch in the interval which were much enjoyed. The highlight of the second half (not necessarily musically) was Schneewalzer which had the audience and choir swaying from side-to-side and jumping up and sitting down, with no concessions to age!. The whole evening was a delight with the Choir Directed by Alastair Elliott and the Band conducted by Ollie Wilson both introducing their items with much humour. Piano accompanist was Angela Allard who gave her usual faultless marathon.
