This was a contrast to the farce or comedy production normally seen at this time of the year, but they rose to the challenge with notable success. Sharon and Jeanette made very good and efficient use of the limited stage space and certainly captured the spirit of the piece. Plenty of talent on stage with good character performances from everyone, but especially from Angela Williams (Miss Blacklock), Carole Tomlinson (Miss Marple) and Malcolm Pike (Inspector Craddock) who were all in fine form. The whole cast can be proud of their achievement. The costumes were all suitable for the period and there was an excellent set with real doors, they do make a difference. There was also a good range of suitable furniture on stage and there was certainly an eye to detail in the props, particularly the drinks. The lighting was good particularly the use of the use of a chandelier for the blackout scene which was very effective. The scene changes were handled well and the choice of music for the opening and during scene changes was inspired. It was a very entertaining evening and certainly shows what can be achieved from a talented production team and cast.
