This version of A Murder is Announced by Leslie Darbon is the original story by Agatha Christie. Even with a reduced number of characters there are still red herrings and clues to keep everyone guessing.

Carey Esthop was perfect as Letitia Blacklock who home is reported to be the location of  a murder that will take place this coming Friday in the local newspaper. The rest of the cast gather at the house at the appointed time. There were good performances from her niece and nephew Julia and Patrick Simmons played by Jess Skidmore and David Lavender.

When you think of Miss Marple you think only of two actresses (Dame Margaret Rutherford and Joan Hickson but Gaynor Wiltshire was very believable as Miss Marple. The rest of the cast worked well together and kept us thinking who did it to the end of the play.

Thank you for an entertaining evening.
