A simple but effective set, sensitive projections and creative lighting all enhanced the stage to give the very best of local talent a springboard to entertain us with uplifting musical numbers that were chosen to inspire and entertain the audience. The show flowed smoothly from beginning to end and each scene was effortlessly set to change the mood according to the song. Costumes were authentic for each number and with appropriate props it was soon evident there was a journey ahead of us. It was a lovely ‘Journey’ enjoyed by a very appreciative audience.
The chorus were a very integral part of the concert and sang and acted well and with so many changes and small roles they are to be commended for their slickness and strong singing. Movement was well rehearsed and added that extra sparkle without going over the top. The ensembles performed with expertise and were well rehearsed. The juniors in the show were well drilled and all performed with obvious enjoyment and kept up their roles throughout the whole show. They sang, moved and acted extremely well.
All solo singers were outstanding. What a wealth of talent there was. There were too many to mention and there wasn’t a weak link in the show. However special mention must go to the following for their sensitive and wonderful singing which had the audience spellbound. Namely: Cameron Robertson, Lynn Ireland, Georgina Faed, Maddie Cawthorne, Nicola Foggan, Alison Fergie and Diane Renner.
I thoroughly enjoyed this concert which was emotional and uplifting in every aspect and certainly a ‘Wonderful Journey’ that was enjoyed by everyone. Huge congratulations to all involved for a superb team effort in this very successful production.
