It was wonderful to be back with The Great Horton Theatre Company for their annual festive concert “A Holly Jolly Christmas”, a wonderful concert that puts the audience in the festive mood. There were many festive numbers along with other well-known songs and solo performances. Well done to the MD Ken Gilroy who unfortunately could not be there at this performance, but the show was still held together by Mike Gilroy.

The solo performances were “Losing You” by Karen Priestley, “Little Jack Frost” by Hilary and Andrea, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Geraldine and the Choir, just before Act Two there was Richard and Janet’s Christmas Quiz which all the audience took part in, but the NODA team won!

Act two was opened by Richard and an excellent Irish medley, along with solos such as “Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer" by Audrey and Val. There were many full choir numbers, my favourite being “Away in a Manager” which was written in a new composition.

Overall, a great festive ambiance, enhanced by audience participation in carol singing and other interactive elements which successfully immersed the audience in the holiday spirit.

Finally, Rita Scholfield did a great job of narrating us through the show.
