A Celebration of Musicals Act Four

What an evening of entertainment the audiences were privileged to. There was a clever mix of songs from old to new.

The show opened up with Something Rotten and right away we knew we were in for a special night. The first half had some brilliant routines from Cabaret to Chicago, and Annie to Hairspray along with lots of other songs.

I really enjoyed Oliver and the clever way in which there was two Nancy’s on stage, but I must say the end of Act 1 (Wicked Medley) was excellent I just did not want the show to stop for a break.

I sat with anticipation to see what the second act would bring and to say I was not disappointed is an understatement, lots of new songs like The Great British Bake Off came to life on stage but I must say the barbershop quartet sang with brilliant harmonies sounded so good.

It was impossible to mention individuals performing as they were all very good and they must be so pleased playing to full houses which was thoroughly deserved. The show finished off with The Rocky Horror Show, this had the audience standing on their feet singing and dancing along with the song. The atmosphere in the room was electric.

A very talented group of performers who put on a wonderful concert and if this is the talent they have then I cannot wait for their next musical.

All this was directed by Lexie ward and Joe Desborough, and I applaud both of you, I could see how much hard work you had put into the show and it truly paid off.

Musical Directors, Hannah Ord and Jonathan Millican had the band either side of the stage and what a wonderful job they did.

Sound was mostly good but although there was a bit of crackling on the microphones at times this did not take away anything from the show.

As I said above, a bunch of very talented individuals who put on a wonderful concert. Well Done.
