9 to 5 the Musical

Another visit to Carnoustie High School and an afternoon of pleasure. What is not to like? Great singing, choreography and a funny script directed with style.

The 3 ladies Doralee, Judy and Violet (Natalie Morris, Kerry Mitchell and Elaine Scougal) were a perfect match. They portrayed their different characters well and sung beautifully.

The supporting principles Craig Douris (Joe), Gavin Burton (Hart) and Rennie Adams (Roz) completed the picture, added to the fun and gave strong performances. The supporting cast were in character and enhanced the production with added oomph! Great work Bethany, Karen, Jane, Laura, Raymond, David, Neil, Gary and Marcus.

The singing was in the capable hands of Paul Clancy and was of a high standard. The choreography was slick and was suited to the small stage. The direction allowed for quick scene changes and minimal set and made everyone visible and relevant. I enjoyed the chorus numbers especially. Well done to all.

A special mention to the wardrobe team for achieving a certain look. Lastly the backstage crew need thanks, this is a small space which you all work so effectively.
