Thank you for inviting Phyllis and I to your production of "9 to 5"

It was always going to be a very busy show for the backstage crew with the number of scene changes in quick succession, particularly in the first act, but they rose to the task admirably. The scene changes were quiet and quick, but occasionally the number of blackouts interfered with the flow of the production, perhaps more changes could have been done in full view by the company to avoid this. The images projected either side of the prosceneium were sometimes distracting to the action on stage. Having said this, well done. Lighting and sound were very well executed. The costumes and wigs suited the characters and period of the production. The Orchestra was well led by Chris Wadeson.

The three main female characters, Violet, played by Sarah Carrick, Judy, played by Rachel Lucy and Doralee played by Laura Thompson were all absolutely superb in every department of their performance. The musical numbers ‘I Just Might’, and ‘Shine Like The Sun’, sung by all three were outstanding. All individual numbers sang by these characters were equally well executed. All these three roles were totally different characters and that was what we got from them. Very well done. I also enjoyed the performance of Megan Bradley as Roz, her singing and acting of ‘Heart to Heart’, along with the ensemble was excellent. Martin Craig’s characterisation and posturing were excellent for the lewd personae of Frank Hart. The office scene between Frank and Doralee was very funny and really well done. His singing as always was superb, but he certainly deserved his eventual cumuppence, well done Martin. All minor roles and ensembles were well performed.

The choreographer, Sally McKimm produced all the high energy numbers very well. Father and Daughter team Ailsa and Phil did a sterling job as Directors on their first joint venture.
