Director Thelma Wallis assisted by Edith Wilmot presented a well thought out celebration of music and comedy from each decade of the Queen’s reign with a compilation of songs sketches and dances from the Fifties to the Noughties that entertained a full house on the first night. The cast led by Master of Ceremonies Chris Lang did a very good job. Of special note on the night was Pippa Mills rendering of “I did it my way”. Guest dancers from the Vanessa Golbourn School of Dance were excellent. The evening was enhanced by the audience participation with Hey Jude in the Beatles Medley and a rousing Land of Hope and Glory to round off a very enjoyable evening. Joint Musical Directors Alan Rixon and Jonathan Upfold with the small band produced a very pleasant sound giving splendid support to the actors.
