Back to Gosforth Village Hall and although the premises are going through some modernisation this concert was able to go ahead before work starts on the main hall. And what a great night it was, the show opened with Hello from the book of Mormon and this was so well done having 4 of the cast on the sides of the hall and when they sang a spotlight hit them giving this song a powerful start.

There was a good mixture of old and new songs sung by the adults and juniors.

Welcome to the Rock from Come From Away was amazing this included all of the Ensemble, and it sounded so good.

There was a couple of solo’s from Hamilton sung by Rebecca Crowther and James Nuttall, they then went straight into Six with Ex-Wives and Don’t lose Your Head which was excellent.

Finishing off the first act was a new song Wait for Me (reprise) from Hadestown which was done very well, as I say it is always nice to hear new songs from new shows.

The second act opened with a couple of songs from The Addams Family, I enjoyed Beth Temple and Thomas Tyson singing Crazier Than You from the show.

Say my name from Beetlejuice was sung by Paige Parker, Richard Ellis, Benita Blacklock and Alison Fligg which was wonderful.

Two great songs from Wicked really had people tapping their feet.

I must say Arien Birks and Paige Parker were outstanding singing Naughty from Matilda.

Next was two more songs from another new show Ghost which were very good but Alison Fligg singing With You was so good you could have heard a pin drop in the room.

Act two the finished off with two songs from Mary Poppins, both led by Benita Blacklock, the first was the classic Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (and that took some spelling).

The ensemble joined in and brought this classic to life with the singing and dancing and then a new song called Anything Can happen was a great song to end the show with.

Although it is impossible to mention everybody, I just want to say you were all very good, I really enjoyed the show as did the audience.

Lighting was outstanding, all the spots and lighting caught all the individuals and Ensemble when needed.

The sound was also very good, so well done to Annette Johnstone and Jim Polmear.

Annette also produced the show on which you must be so proud of the wonderful job you had done along with the Director/Musical Director Tosh McGregor between the three of you all your hard work paid off.

Once again, a good concert so well done.
