Although recorded as an album by Meatloaf, Bat Out Of Hell, was originally written as a musical by Jim Steinman, 40 years ago.
The plot is loosely based on the Peter Pan and Wendy story, and is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in a place named Obsidian, which was previously Manhattan. The love story follows Strat, leader of the The Lost, and Raven, daughter of the ruler of Obsidian.
The musical premiered at Manchester Opera House in 2017 and won Best Musical at the Evening Standard Awards 2017. It was nominated for eight WhatsOnStage awards in 2018, and won Best Lighting Design.
Bat Out Of Hell had a three month run in the West End in 2017, and returns to the Dominion Theatre from 2nd April 2018.
