Rock of Ages
Princes Theatre, Clacton on Sea
The sinking of the Titanic on 15 April 1912 remains one of the biggest disasters of the Twentieth Century. Only 711 survived the sinking and a total of 1,517 men, women and children lost their lives on that night. The fact that the finest, largest, strongest ship in the world, dubbed "unsinkable", should have been lost during its maiden voyage is so incredible that, had it not actually happened, nobody would have ever considered it a possibility. The musical is about real people, with a real back story and makes the show poignant, emotive and the musical score enhances the stories behind them as we learn why these people find themselves on the ship, and their hopes and aspirations for the future.
