Chess the Musical

Set at the height of the Cold War in the late 1900’s; America & Russia use the world Chess Championship to prove their supremacy. The players, one American, one Russian, battle for the world title. While they are pawns to their Governments own political games; they both risk losing everything for a woman. A Hungarian Refugee whose turbulent history mirrors both the players and the game. Secrets & Subterfuge. Love & Heartbreak. We see nothing other than a simple board game!

Written by ABBA songwriters Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, and Tim Rice; Chess includes the international hit singles ‘I Know Him So Well’ and ‘One Night In Bangkok’, other well-known songs include ‘Anthem’, ‘Heaven Help my Heart’ and ‘Pity The Child’.
