Stage Combat
Stage combat is a physical discipline and requires practice under the guidance of a qualified instructor. The techniques taught in these videos are followed at your own risk.
Tom Jordan is a professional Fight Choreographer and Stage Combat Instructor. He has choreographed fights for a plethora of productions across the UK for companies such as Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, The Egg (Theatre Royal Bath) and The Handlebards. He has taught for several prestigious institutions including The Royal Shakespeare Company, Guildford School of Acting, and the University of Northampton. He is an Associate Practitioner for the RSC and is Lecturer in Stage Combat for the University of Gloucestershire. As a fight performer, he’s been a pirate, a cowboy, a troll, a goblin, an elf, a fight-show Jedi and many more terrifying and exciting things. Once upon a time he even fought at a bar mitzvah….

Sarah Osborne is an experienced and inspirational drama practitioner, director and writer who has been working within theatre, training and education (both mainstream and outside of school) for over 21 years. In addition to her freelance work, she is the artistic director of Yew Tree Arts Ltd and Yew Tree Youth Theatre.
Her work in the arts focuses on creating quality theatre and encompasses a vast range of productions of established plays in addition to the devising, writing and direction of innovative new works many of which are ensemble-based. At the heart of all of her productions is the search for truth, integrity and creative vision. In her work within education and training, she uses drama to develop creativity, confidence and communication all essential elements in successful learning. Her education work is driven by the same ambition of excellence and opportunities for all as her work in theatre.

Sarah’s professional credits started at a young age with the UK tour of Barnum, as ensemble and circus performer; next came an international skate show, followed by a season as principal singer in Scotland. Sarah created the female lead role of Cathy in the world premiere of Casper - the Musical, which ended its tour at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London, marking her West End debut. She then played Chava and was resident child director in the UK tour of Fiddler on the Roof alongside Paul Nicholas.
Sarah is an established dance teacher and choreographer and has been doing so for over 15 years, Teaching at various theatre school across the south both independently run and professional theatre schools, Including PPA and Associated Studios and created choreography for many showcases, shows and filming projects, including P&O, Ted Group, Independent summer seasons productions and music videos.

Having trained at Bretton Hall and the LeCoq School of Mime in Paris Jonny has been touring the world as a specialist in Physical Theatre, Maskwork, Puppetry and Devised Performance for the past 24 years. Companies he has worked with include the RSC, Improbable Theatre and Welsh National Opera amongst many others. Having toured to over 30 different countries, his work has included performing Shakespeare in Singapore, Puppetry in Norway and award-winning Mask Theatre in Iran as well as creating his own solo work. He also works as a sought after maker of Masks & Puppets and as a Theatre Designer and exhibiting illustrator. His current focus is building a 100ft houseboat studio from scratch!
