Head Office Staff

Head Office is manned with a dedicated team of professional people each committed to providing the best possible service for our members.
The staff are managed by Dale Freeman as Chief Operating Officer (COO) with over 17 years experience working with NODA.

Dale Freeman

Chief Operating Officer, DPO & DBS Lead Signatory

Dale joined NODA in 2006 as a sales assistant, coming from a very sales-oriented background, which made it a perfect fit for him initially. However, he soon realised that the role was not just about sales but also about providing a service to NODA's membership alongside the sales aspect. At that time, he had been on stage regularly for nearly 30 years—not as an actor, but as a musician/singer — and therefore had some understanding of theatre.

Over the years, his title and role changed several times, and in 2017, was offered the position of Chief Operating Officer, which he eagerly accepted. Many changes have taken place within NODA since then, none more significant than the rebrand and launch of the new NODA in 2024. Watch this space!
Robert Williams

Marketing & Publishing Executive

Rob has been involved with theatre since being at school, first onstage, then technical design before finally moving into theatre management. Having worked in both professional and amateur theatres he brings a wealth of marketing experience to NODA. Most recently he has worked in marketing with the UK arm of an agricultural machinery manufacturer (He does say that at times they were more dramatic than theatre people!) He is still heavily involved with his local amateur group both onstage and directing.

Liam Nixon

Membership Services & Marketing Assistant

Liam has been involved within theatre from a young age and has now began choreographing and directing shows within his local theatre company. Through the use of social media, Liam will be able to bring his skill set to the forefront and help grow NODA online presence as well as helping our members from day to day.

Heather Knapp

Administrator / Secretary

Heather joined the NODA head office team in November 2023 and brings a wealth of experience both in administration and in other roles within the charity sector. She has been awarded her 25 year NODA medal as she has been involved in amateur theatre since 1997 . Heather is an active committee and performing member of two NODA member societies and also acts in professional murder mystery events.
Michelle Callicott

Financial Controller

Michelle joined our team in May of 2022 and comes to us with a vast knowledge and experience of all things financial and is a valued asset to the Association.
