This full length play is adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale about pirates and their swashbuckling adventures.

If ever there was a production that defined “teamwork” then this is it!

This was a very large cast who worked very hard, producing some very creditable performances creating some very nice pieces of theatre. Excellent team work, good delivery of dialogue, clear diction all made for a polished performance from a very talented cast.

The best characterisation, taking into account the audience’s reaction, was delivered by Matthew Lee playing the part of Ben Gun; his portrayal of a man who has been struggling to survive having been abandoned on an island was very convincing.

The excellent fixed set worked well for this production, Lighting, ably supplied by Lightsource Production Services and complimented the production. Costumes were colourful and appropriate to the period. The music choice suited this production and added to the overall feel.

Congratulations to Jay Excell who put together a strong group of actors who in turn gave the director a play to be proud of.

This was quite a brave choice of play in the current climate and I would urge you to continue to be bold in your choices and help to push boundaries in non-professional theatre.
