~~This is not a show to be undertaken by the feint hearted but then Erewash are certainly not that. Laurie used all the stage facilities and cast abilities to the full in this great production. This was Dave’s first outing with the senior group but he was master of the music, well interpreted, played and sung. There were excellent performances from Adam Richmond, Alex Tavener, Stephanie Ure and Rachel Brown as Darryl and the three witches both individually and when working together, strong leads are needed in these roles and they certainly more than met that requirement. They were well supported with fine performances by Gill Cooke, Gemma Blake and Zac Charlesworth as Felicia, Jennifer and Michael and a good enthusiastic chorus. The choreography was very well arranged and danced not least with the “Dance with the Devil” number superbly performed by the whole cast. The costumes were excellent and certainly added to the presentation, while the simple but effective set made good use of the back projection facility and the back stage staff worked effectively and efficiently throughout. It was great to see a number of performers who have come up from the junior group, not least the choreographer, a tribute to the enthusiasm and organisation of the EMUs. The show was certainly a great success and performers and production staff can be proud of their achievement, the audience certainly enjoyed the occasion.
