This show is so well known and much loved by audiences throughout the world and this production was no exception - the audience were enthralled and everyone on stage gave their all to tell this lovely story. A great start with the Sisters singing in perfect harmony and then there was Maria singing her heart out on the mountainside, the part played enchantingly by Victoria Langley. The Moher Abbess was played with sensitive authority by Linda Thompson and Sisters Berthe, Sophia and Margaretta were all very well cast. A lovely band of Von Trapp children led by Maria (Lynne Carter) - they all worked very well together. Stewart Patient gave an excellent performance as the stern Captain and Lucy Smith was an elegant Elsa Schraeder with Ray Collins as the good humoured Max Detweiler. Michael Fillery's performance as Rolf was also excellent. The scenery worked well and Pat White's expertise as MD was very evident. The rest of the cast, smaller parts and chorus all added to this excellent show, as well as all the hard work which is always carried out behind the scenes.
