Written by Norman Robbins, this panto was full of fun. There was plenty of comedy courtesy of Jess Burrows [Tickles], Mike Kelly as the Dame and Joan King and Phil Darling as Shout and Bawl. There were puns and doubles entendres galore and some of the corniest gags I've heard in ages. Margery Thompson was thoroughly evil as the bad fairy Carabosse; Amanda Crombie [Fairy Azuriel] delivered her rhyming couplets in charming style and Sarah Holt together with Stephanie King [Princess Aurora and Prince Valiant] were nicely matched. The remainder of the named characters and chorus members contributed well to the success of the show. The costumes were a delightful credit to the Wardrobe Mistress and the scenery was well made and decorated. The technical aspects were in capable hands and the backstage crew were very efficient. This was an excellent evening's entertainment. Well done.
