This was my first visit to The Award Winning, Longton Players and I hope I will be invited again? Peter Gordon's script had us laughing from the opening scene to the finale. The sign of a good evening,s entertainment is when time passes quickly and this performance flew by.

The set construction and décor transported us to the back room of a typical English pub some years ago. Lighting and sound were excellent. The people who were responsible for this should be complimented as I felt instantly at home.

The cast were obviously enjoying themselves and this was reflected in the audience reaction, who I am sure have met someone very similar in their own lives. The boring, know it all husband, the Jack the Lad car salesman, the quiet shy man who agrees to anything for the sake of peace and the naïve, brash D.J. The ladies in their lives, have a profound effect on them, as in real life. We were taken on a roller coaster ride of emotions, sometimes poignant and sometimes hilarious.

Great writing by Peter Gordon but it was the cast who brought his words to life.
There were some splendid performances marred only by too many prompts on the night.

Nick Briggs, Director should be complimented on the final result.

As I left at the end of the evening, the comments I heard from other members of the audience were all positive. On behalf of my wife and myself I would like to thank you for a very enjoyable evening. We look forward to your next production.
