The Magic of Christmas

The Town Hall

Theatre 4 All

8/12/24

What is more inviting on a cold December evening six weeks before Christmas than a festive celebration concert. The Town Hall in Neston High Street was the new venue for the community theatre group Theatre 4 All. The hall was full, Mums and Dads, siblings, Aunts and Uncles Grandparents and of course Neston friends and neighbours.

‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ judging by the applause was a popular song to begin proceedings. We were treated to an array of traditional Christmas Carols, ‘Oh Little Town of Bethlehem’,’ The First Noel’ beautifully sung by Jennifer Gardner. Then we met the adorable children. Amber, Orlando, Lucas and Morgan, ‘When Santa got stuck up the Chimney’ what a joy. The twenty strong ensemble all had an opportunity to shine, including a singing Santa together with the Grinch, two beautiful singing voices. Finishing the first half we all sang Jingle Bells with the children, lovely.

We began our celebrations once again ‘Walking in a Winter Wonderland’, followed by Sophie singing ‘Ave Maria’, young Lucas played ‘Once in Royal Davids City’ on the piano, much to the joy of his proud parents. There was such a joyous atmosphere in the hall, every one was fully engaged with the ensemble and the band, Hayley sax/flute, Steve bass guitar, Chris drums and the musical director Nikki Ruscoe on the piano. Solo performances by Alison, ‘Hallelujah’, Zoe ‘Merry Christmas Darling’/’I Wish it could be Christmas Everyday’. Binny, ‘Still Still Still’ April, ‘I want a Hippo for Christmas’

We had Amber, Orlando, Lucas, and Morgan once again, ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’. They were then accompanied by full ensemble ‘Wish you a Merry Christmas’ then the men ‘Dreamt of a White Christmas’. This was a superb evening of community coming together, long may it continue.

Thank you for inviting me it was super. Also, I was lucky enough to win a lovely bottle of Prosecco on the raffle…a result all round.
